Grindelwald_train.png

Grindelwald, Switzerland offers something for everyone. Is a quintessential alpine village in the Swiss Alps and connects visitors to the Jungfrau ski Region which offers a premier and unparalleled skiing experience tailored to different levels of expertise. Skiing in any part of the Jungfrau region requires taking a train to get to the slopes – but staying in Grindelwald gives you immediate access to the 6-minute train to the Eiger Express, accessing Grindelwald-First and Grindelwald-Wengen areas.

A huge benefit to staying in Grindelwald when skiing in the Jungfrau Region is the access to additional activities. Every guest who stays overnight and pays the visitor tax will receive a guest card which gives you free access to the Grindelwald Grund cross-country ski trail and Graben library, as well as discounts on additional activities. Guests can choose to pay an additional price to upgrade their card for free access to the Hallenbad indoor swimming pool and ice skating in the village.

The Jungfrau Region introduced two new lifts for the 2020-21 ski season. The Grindelwald Terminal  "V-Bahn cableway" - so called because both lifts will start from the same base station - will transport skiers and snowboarders to the Eiger Glacier and the Männlichen in record time. The lifts will make it much faster to reach the slopes of the Jungfrau Region. The new lifts will also facilitate access to the Jungfraujoch, otherwise known as the Top of Europe.

Jungfrau_Eiger_Run_by_Night.jpg

Grindelwald "Eiger Run" sledding & winter hikeJungfrau Eiger Run by Night (Group Activity)

In the shadow of the Eiger with a dash into the valley: The Jungfrau Eiger Run is a spectacular sledging run by day with a gradient of up to 36 per cent. However, the 3.5 kilometre stretch from Alpiglen to Brandegg is even more exciting at night. The Wengernalpbahn also travels to Alpiglen in the evening – in just five minutes and as often as you like with the "Jungfrau Eiger Run Evening Ticket". The burned calories can be quickly regained with a fondue in the Alpiglen or Brandegg alpine chalets, where you can stay up all night – right next to the illuminated sledging run.
